Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has praised teammate Naby Keita for his performance during the club’s tough win at Burnley on Wednesday.
The Reds came from a goal down to defeat Sean Dyche’s men as they maintain their pressure on league leaders Manchester City.
After a shaky start to his career with the Merseyside club, Keita finally showed why Liverpool coughed up £53million for his services and were willing to wait a year for his delayed arrival from German side RB Leipzig with a commanding performance going forward from midfield, something which has been missing from the team’s midfield all season.
Henderson, who returned to the starting lineup after missing the team’s 1-0 win against Everton, was delighted to see the Guinea international rediscover his form.
“I thought he started [the season] really well and then got an injury which set him back a little bit but I thought he was outstanding,” he said, according to Sky Sports.
“You can see how good he is on the ball, how comfortable he is; driving the ball forward, which is important for us.”
“I think he’ll go from strength to strength as he gets more games and experience but I think you can already see he’s a fantastic player.”
