Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola has given an update on the condition of Callum Hudson-Odoi ahead of their FA Cup tie with Nottingham Forest.

Zola faced the press on Friday to answer questions ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup tie at the Bridge on Saturday.

The Italian declared Callum Hudson-Odoi fit after the youngster was substituted in Chelsea’s 2-1 win at Watford last week.

Bayern Munich have bid three times for the 18-year-old this month, but Chelsea seem adamant to convince the player to sign a new deal.

“The injuries will leave space for some of the young players,” Zola told the club’s website.

“There are players who have played five or six games in a short period of time, so it will be necessary to do a little bit of rotation.

“Callum Hudson-Odoi is back in full training. Yesterday he trained with the whole team and he is certainly available. It is very much looking like he is going to play.”

Sarri’s right-hand man refused to be drawn on the future on Cesc Fabregas who been linked with a January move to the Serie A.

“Cesc has always been a wonderful professional ever since I have been here. I don’t know to be honest.

“You are asking me a question I wish could answer.

“His contract runs out in six months and I don’t know how it is going to go but despite that, I know if he plays tomorrow he will, as usual,l deliver a good performance.”
