Chelsea has demanded a fee in the region of £10million for Cesc Fabregas from AS Monaco, as the Spaniard edges closer to a move to the French club.

Fabregas, whose contracts with the Blues expires at the end of the current season decided to leave during the January transfer window due to a lack of game time under Maurizio Sarri this season.

The former Spain international is understood to have traveled to the Stade Louis II on Sunday to complete his transfer to Monaco, who are managed by his former Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry.

Fabregas is believed to have already agreed a contract with Monaco, but reports in the English press say the Ligue 1 club have not yet agreed a price with Chelsea.

The report claims the Blues are demanding in excess of £10million for the former Barcelona midfielder, but Monaco wants to pay less for a player who’s expected to become a free agent in the summer, according to Sports Mole.

The World Cup winner will leave Stamford Bridge having helped the club win two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and one League Cup over the last four years.
