Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has heaped praises on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following his incredible start to life as caretaker manager for Manchester United.

Solskjaer has won his five matches in charge after replacing Jose Mourinho in December equaling Sir Matt Busby’s record after United 2-0 FA Cup victory against Reading last Saturday.

The former Manchester United striker was appointed on interim basis until the end of the season, and could overtake Busby’s record with a win at Wembley against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday.

Asked about Solskjaer after City’s 9-0 demolition of Burton Albion in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-finals on Wednesday, Guardiola told reporters, according to FourFourTwo:

Simeone refuses to talk about Morata interest

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone would not discuss Alvaro Morata's future, despite reports suggesting the Spaniard is close to joining the club Having fallen out...

“His start is much better than mine, I lost my first game and drew the second [after being appointed in 2016].”

“He won all the games. He is a young manager, getting incredible results. I saw a few minutes of games they played and they played good.”

“But it is not my business to talk about other opponents, we have a tough game around the corner against Wolves.”

“It will be a tough game. We have one day off and then prepare for the game.”
