Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has hailed his forward Gabriel Jesus following the Brazilian’s outstanding performance in City’s 9-0 Carabao Cup semi-final victory over League one side Burton Albion.

Jesus scored four goals alongside Kevin De Bruyne, Oleks Zinchenko, Riyad Mahrez, Kyle Walker and Phil Foden’s who scored respectively to see the Blues edge a step close to Wembley.

Guardiola explained how Jesus’ goals would benefit the forward as well as his team moving.

“A striker needs goals,” Pep said after the match as quoted in the club’s official website

Jesus signed for the Premier League club Manchester City in early 2017 on a contract that will last till 2021 for a reported fee of £27 million/€33 million, with add-ons.

He made his first Premier League appearance on in the same January, where he came on to replace Raheem Sterling at 82nd minute in a 2–2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at the City’s stadium.
