The Los Blancos have completed the signing of Jose Lopez Martinez, also known as Chechu from Malaga, according to Marca.
The versatile defender who can play in both the centre of defence and as a left-back will be a key asset for Santiago Solari’s side.
Reports in Spain on Wednesday suggested that the deal was close to completion and the European champions have now completed the deal.
Chechu was at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu to witness Madrid’s Copa del Rey clash 3-0 victory over Leganes and when all of the documentation was processed, his move was completed.
The Spain U17 international was born in Murcia and came through the youth academy at Real Murcia before joining Valencia and then ultimately earning a move to Malaga.
His arrival at the Spanish capital is the second in as many days for a player represented by agent Pere Guardiola, brother of Manchester City boss Pep, following the addition of Brahim Diaz from City.
The deal to sign Chechu also includes a return to Malaga for Dani Sanchez, who joined Madrid four years ago.
