Jamie Maclaren plays for Hibernian in the Scottish Premier League and is a prolific striker that scores his first Australia goal after three years.

Since he started playing professionally, Jamie Maclaren has scored 71 goals in four different teams around the world.

But the Australian had yet to score for his national team until he did it against Palestine in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.

“I’ve been the most consistent scorer at club level for Australian strikers for the last three years,” Maclaren said to The World Game.

“It just hasn’t happened for the national team, but now it has and it’s time for me to step up and kick on.”

“At club level, I’m really content with my goals-to-game ratio but at national team level it starts to get to you,” he commented.

“When you’ve got a great bunch of boys around you I knew it was going to come.”
