Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone insists no player or staff is bigger than the club, amidst speculation linking some of his players to other teams.

Speaking ahead of his team’s clash against Levante this weekend, Simeone said, as quoted by Marca:

“We are always in the hands of the club in everything that happens, they tell me the needs and we express the needs of the sports side to continue growing together. So we will continue, thinking in common but always attending first to the needs of the club because the club is always above all of us.”

Simeone refuses to talk about Morata interest

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone would not discuss Alvaro Morata's future, despite reports suggesting the Spaniard is close to joining the club Having fallen out...

“It’s normal, the club is above all of us and obviously to improve the club, improving the sports and teams. We have grown up in players who have come, in others who have not left but always the needs of the club are ahead.”

“Any consideration you make does not make sense as a result of the needs of the players, the players and the clubs, so I refer to the same thing: work on the children who are here and think about tomorrow’s match. It’s important against a rival who, against Barcelona, already played a great game in Copa and has been making great football.”
