FC Barcelona announce ‘Estadi Johan Cruyff’

President of FC Barcelona Josep Maria Bartomeu has announced that the Barcelona B’s stadium will be renamed ‘Estadi Johan Cruyff’

Barcelona B play their home matches at the Mini Estadi. President Josep Maria Bartomeu has announced that the stadium will be renamed Estadi Johan Cruyff as part of the Espai Barca Project.

Vice-President Jordi Cardoner also confirmed plans of a statue of the great Dutchman, and that the club requested to rename the street Carrer d’Aristides Maillot, where you find the Blaugrana’s headquarters.

Johan Cruyff died from lung cancer last year, and is considered the most influential figure in FC Barcelona’s history.

Johan Cruyff had a great active career, playing for Barcelona in the period 1973-1978. He later took charge of Barcelona as a manager back in 1988
