When Real Madrid yesterday beat Sporting Gijon with 3-2 it was without Gareth Bale on the pitch. Now it is official that the Welch superstar will not join the squad for the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

– Gareth Bale made a great work on coming back after his injury. When he did that, he was desperate to come back, but he suffers minor problems now. He won’t make it to the Bayern Munich game, because we won’t take any chances with him. I hope he will be ready for the Barcelona game, but we’ll have to wait and see. Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane says.

Real Madrid won the first game, in Munich, 1-2 which makes a great baseline for the second match home in Madrid.
