Barca were unable to produce another “Remuntada” as Juventus’ wall proved to be too strong. An impressive Neymar was consistently toiling the left flank, and gave Juventus players problems the whole game. His efforts weren’t enough tough, and the Catalans had to accept a knockout.
The Barca fans however roared their team until the end, and even applauded the team when the final whistle blew.
Messi wasn’t at his best, and it proved to be the decisive factor. He was however also applauded by the fans in the second half, where his cross went far behind the goal. The fans backed him up, and chanted his name throughout all of Camp Nou, and showed him their support.
Juventus strategy was to press high and it hurt Barcelona, who had a hard time playing through the press. Attack proved to be the best form of defense for the Turin side, and they got the result they came for, completing the Italians revenge for Barcelona’s victory against them in the Champions League final in 2015.
Neymar was the most impressive player for Barcelona, as he gave the Juventus players troubles with his fast dribbling.
The match stayed tense, but the time ran out for Barcelona, and just like the last season the Catalans were knocked out in the quarter-final.
