Tuchel before the final match: “Anxiety rises”

Tuchel and Borussia Dortmund are standing before two of the most important matches of the season. On Saturday, they face off against Werder Bremen to qualify for the Champions League and one week later they play against Eintracht Frankfurt for the trophy final. Tuchel states on Friday in the final press conference “It is such a great week. To know that there are to final matches, very special.”

He appears very stiff and “anxiety rises” quoting Tuchel. On Saturday, the BVB face of Hoffenheim with both being equal on points but with four less goals. Hoffenheim is favored in parallel against the relegation candidate from Augsburg.

That is why TSG coach Julian Nagelsmann promised Werders coach Alexander Nouri a joint holiday in the event of Bremens victory.

“Holiday with him” joked Tuchel: “I don’t understand the incentive”

The trainer said, however, that he did not want to take notice of the other position. That it only leads to distraction.

The team needs to concentrate on their own things against Bremen. For this they require their own fans having their back. The team should be hyped by the atmosphere in the game. Then Tuchel wants to play on attack, but not to “win as high as possible.”

Tuchel warns Aubameyang

For goal scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, there is a two-man match with Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski on who the best goal scorer in the Bundesliga will be.

“The team’s goals stand over personal gains” stated Tuchel: “but no one has anything against Auba combining both tomorrow” Currently, Lewandowski leads with 30 goals before Aubameyang with 29 goals.

For Tuchel personally, it could be the last home game as a BVB coach. But he does not want to do so. “It doesn’t even make sense” he said, “As Bundesliga trainer you must always expect that every match could be your last.”

The confidence for the Werder game, however, was dampened by injuries of some players. Łukasz Piszczek, Erik Durm and Matthias Ginter are out. Their input on Saturday is questionable. For Julian Weigl, who out for three to four months with an ankle fracture, could mean a return for Nuri Şahin the team.

André Schürrle, who has already entered the training, may be a serious option again in the Cup final.
