Lorenzo Pellegrini has attracted interest from the two Premier League giants.

AS Roma signed Lorenzo Pellegrini in the summer from Sassuolo, after a season in which he scored six goals and provided seven assists for the Reggio Emilia club, helping his team achieve an amazing Europa League qualification.

The 21-year-old moved to Roma, together with manager  Eusebio Di Francesco and already made six appearances for the Giallorossi. Pellegrini has been raised by Roma and came through the youth ranks at Olimpico, but only made one appearance for the club before moving away.

Now he has returned to his childhood club and is expected to play a key role in Roma’s campaign across the three competitions that they are playing in this season.

Although he is naturally a central midfielder, Pellegrini played mostly on the wing for Roma this season, with Kevin Strootman and Radja Nainggolan playing in more central position.

His versatility added to the star qualities that the young midfielder possesses have made him a very attractive target for bigger clubs. Roma only paid €10m for his services in the summer and Calciomercato are writing that Chelsea and Manchester City are monitoring the player’s situation and would be ready to make a move for him very soon.
