Neymar cools down tension with Bartomeu

The Brazilian’s move to France was marked by a bust-up with the Catalans chief.

Paris Saint-Germain striker Neymar revealed that he had a normal conversation with Barcelona president Joser Maria Bartomeu as this was the first contact between the pair after the Brazilian switched Camp Nou for Parc des Princes.

After Neymar signed for the Parisiens, Bartomeu stated that the club trusted the Brazilian way too much and even wanted to sue him for breaching his contract regarding a bonus Neymar received after the season.

However, PSG’s star man spoke to Radio Marca at the Best FIFA Football Awards in London and revealed that there is no tension between him and Bartomeu: “I spoke to Bartomeu in a normal fashion,” Neymar said.

The Brazilian also shared that he his friendship with Messi is not affected in any way by his decision to go to France: “We didn’t speak about football, only other things,” he revealed.

“He is my friend and wherever we are, we will be together.”

When it comes to Ronaldo claiming yet another Best FIFA player award, Neymar stated: “Yeah, it weighs a lot, of course, the Champions League,” he added.

“I congratulate him, he deserves this, he has done a lot in football, he is a very respected guy and with Messi he is one of the two stars of world football, and I am very, very happy to be in the final three.”
