Ronaldo reportedly rejects new contract

The Portuguese has had a slow start of the season.

A ‘frustrated’ Cristiano Ronaldo has declined to extend his spell at Real Madrid and even demanded to be sold away from the Spanish giants at the end of the season. The 32-year-old already made it clear that he had no desire to sign a new agreement with the club, insisting that the current one he has is enough and he is happy with it.

Cristiano was linked with a move away from the Spanish capital last summer, but he remained at the Bernabeu. However, reports in Spain suggest that he does not want to play for Los Blancos after this campaign. If Spanish journalist Edu Aguirre is to be believed, Ronaldo has already informed Madrid’s president about his decision. Yet, Madrid are understood to have rejected the demand of the Portuguese, which has angered Cristiano even more.

According to Aguirre, Ronaldo is a grateful to the fans and the club, but he does not see things eye to eye with the club’s hierarchy.

When asked by beIN Sports if he would sign a new deal with Madrid earlier this season, Ronaldo stated:

“I don’t want to renew. I don’t want to renew.

“I’m very happy with the contract I have.”

Cristiano Ronaldo has had a rather frustrating start of the season, netting only one La Liga goal since the start of the season.
