Salah has got to keep going


Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson says Salah has been “brilliant” so far and the Egyptian must not slow down

Henderson believes one of the key factors in Liverpool’s recent victories is Mohamed Salah. The Reds skipper wants the 25-year-old to keep scoring goals.

Liverpool’s captain said a few encouraging words to Salah and expressed his wishes towards the winger to keep up his form which can help the Merseyside club achieve a high finish.

Ever since the Egypt international moved to Anfield from AS Roma and became the most expensive signing in Liverpool’s history, Salah has been performing on the highest levels. The 25-year-old has already scored 14 goals in 18 games including all competitions this season.

Salah’s greatness helped Liverpool keep those 3 points at home on Saturday when the Reds hosted Southampton in the English Premier League and defeated their guests in a 3-0 game.

The England international Henderson acknowledged Salah’s impressive form and expressed his wishes towards the former Chelsea attacker.

“I just want him [Salah] to keep going and to be fair he hasn’t taken his foot off the gas,” Henderson told club website.

The captain praised Salah’s work ethic and how his great performances make the team better.

“He’s kept working hard in training, scoring goals, working hard in games – it’s not just his goals, it’s his work rate as well, which helps us as a team,” he added.

“He’s been brilliant for all the season so far, but he’s got to keep it going, along with other players.”

After an amazing Premier League game, Salah can show the world what he can do on the biggest stage as well. Liverpool will face Sevilla at in the Champions League at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on Tuesday, and the Egypt international will be looking to add to his CL goals, where he currently has five.
