Gareth Bale wants to stay at Real Madrid until he retires, claims his agent
The Welsh winger’s agent has confirmed that the Real Madrid star wants to spend the rest of his professional career at Los Blancos. The agent spoke to the media before Bale’s return in Real’s Copa del Rey game against Fuenlabrada on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old attacker has not played for Zinedine Zidane’s side since their 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League in late September.
Bale has been out due to a calf and a groin injury as he came in for heavy criticism for his performances before his injuries.
His representative Jonathan Barnett, however claimed Bale doesn’t want to leave Madrid.
“He wants to play the rest of his life at Real Madrid. He loves Madrid, the city, life and he loves the club,” the agent told Fichajes.
“Of course, it hurts him when the people don’t support him and they do with other players who aren’t so good. It’s crazy, this happens only in Spain and I don’t understand it, fans should understand this and know how good he is.”
Barnett went on to roast the Spanish media, for writing articles full of made up stories, linking Bale with a possible transfer.
“Some journalists in Spain write trash, they aren’t based on football reasons and this is a mistake, they don’t take the time to analyse what he has done. The fans should adore him.”
Meanwhile, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane expressed his wishes of seeing ‘BBC’ back together in the near future.
“I want to see Gareth one hundred per cent as soon as possible but I cannot say when he will be like that,” Zidane told a pre-match news conference.
“What I want to see is Gareth, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema all together,” he added.
