Borussia Dortmund have finally decided to allow Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to move to another club and Liverpool are among the most interested.
The German club have grown tired of the Gabonese striker’s attitude recently and have made a decision to make him available for transfer. Interest in the striker is thought to be high, with Liverpool one of the most interested teams.
Jurgen Klopp would enjoy the chance to be reunited with his former player at Anfield and has instructed his executives to prepare a bid for the striker. According to Bild, Liverpool will submit a €56m bid for Aubameyang in January.
The report suggests that Liverpool will be looking to sell Daniel Sturridge before making a move for the Gabonese striker. However, Aubameyang’s brother dismissed a potential move of the striker in January, saying for Bild: “He only wants to win and to score goals. He still feels compete at Dortmund. We are not talking about a move in January.”
The German media, however, insists that Aubameyang will leave Dortmund in the winter and that any interested club would have to pay around €56m for his transfer. Chelsea are also rumored to be interested in the player.
Last month, Aubameyang said in an interview that he doesn’t exclude a move in the near future: “I am happy that I have stayed here. However, I don’t know what will happen next year.”
The 28-year-old striker scored 40 goals for Borussia Dortmund last season. This season, he scored 17 goals in the 19 matches played for the club. His contract with the German club runs until 2020.
