Mesut Ozil could be at the center of a spectacular move in January, as his contract with Arsenal is set to expire next summer.

Rumours surfaced lately about interest from both Manchester United and Barcelona for the German playmaker. Furthermore, the Spanish press wrote that Barcelona even reached an agreement with the 29-year-old and would be ready to pay €20m to Arsenal for the transfer.

However, the player’s agent has now come forward to deny the rumors regarding an agreement, with either Barcelona or Manchester United. According to Mundo Deportivo, the agent has urged Barcelona to make a decision about Mesut Ozil and to act accordingly if they want his client.

Arsenal’s midfielder will be out of contract next summer and has already refused several proposals to continue at Emirates. Therefore, he is available to enter discussions with any club from abroad England in January, once he will enter his final six months of contract. This would be the reason for which Ozil would like to know whether he should wait for Barcelona to come for him or he should start negotiations with other clubs.

According to As, Ozil informed Barcelona that he would like a yearly salary of €19m and the Catalans are now expected to make a decision regarding his acquisition.

Mesut Ozil is also wanted by Jose Mourinho at Manchester United. The pair have previously worked together at Real Madrid, from where they both left in 2013. The German playmaker moved to Arsenal for €47m, while the Portuguese manager returned to Chelsea.
