Benitez not worried about his club’s position

Rafael Benitez made a bit surprising statement after his side’s 2-2 draw at Bournemouth despite leading 2-0 – he claimed that he doesn’t care about his team’s current position as long as they are fighting hard.

The Spaniard insisted that it is not the main thing for him as he prefers to see good attitude and confident performances from his players – of course, he was not happy as his side conceded twice in the final minutes but it was not the end of the world…

The former Real Madrid and Napoli coach spoke about this opinion as he said, according to Football Insider:

“The main thing for me is not just where you are in the table.”

“You have to realise where you are but it’s to be sure that the team continue fighting, playing well and with the belief that we can win.”

“The team has confidence in terms of a lot of the things we have done well and we have to be sure that next time we are positive and try to do things in the same way and avoid these mistakes.”
