Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed that he will likely be making a return to international football for Sweden in the upcoming World Cup in Russia this summer
The LA Galaxy forward had initially retired from international football at the end of Euro 2016, but has been hinting recently that he would be open to a potential return to the Swedish national team for the World Cup.
Ibrahimovic’s involvement in the tournament had been questioned, due to the star’s ties with Malta-based gambling company Bethard prohibiting him from any form of participation under FIFA regulations.
Yet the star had previously stated that “FIFA can’t stop me” and has now took to Twitter to announce that his chances of making the tournament are sky high.
“The chance of me playing in the World Cup is skyhoga #FifaWorldCup2018.” wrote the 36 year-old.
