As he closes in on his competitive return to action, Neymar has revealed that he is feeling “scared” with the World Cup now fast approaching

The Paris Saint-Germain forward returned to training with the first-team last weekend after a lengthy absence with a broken foot, which was sustained in late February against Marseille.

Neymar was unable to return to the side in their Coupe de France victory and is expected to be absent from PSG’s final Ligue 1 game of the season against Caen on Saturday.

However, the 26-year-old should be available to return to competitive action in Brazil’s first international friendly against Croatia on June 3 as part of their preparations for the World Cup this summer in Russia.

“No-one is as scared as me,” Neymar told TV Globo, via Ligue 1 website.

“I know that people are a little nervous, but nobody is more so than me, no-one is more anxious to make a comeback than me.”

Brazil will be hoping to erase the painful memory of their last World Cup at home soil by winning the famous gold trophy for a record sixth time this summer with Neymar anxious to achieve his ultimate “dream”.

“It’s a very difficult time, I think it’s the most difficult I have had because we are so close to my dream, the World Cup,” he said.

“Thanks to God, I have this new opportunity to become world champion with my country. It’s a dream I’ve had since I was little, it’s my main objective. I hope it will be my Cup.”
