Real Madrid are plotting a bid that will bring Kylian Mbappe to the Spanish capital in the summer, reports Sport

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been there target all along and that their interest in Neymar was nothing more than a smokescreen created as a diversion from their real target.

Despite the world record signing of Neymar arriving at PSG at the same time as him, Mbappe has impressed in his first season at the Parc Des Princes and has proved himself alongside the former Barcelona star.

The 19-year-old moved from AS Monaco on a loan deal last summer and will make the transfer to PSG permanent on July 1 with the Ligue 1 champions set to pay up to €180m to secure his stay with them on a permanent basis.

The deal will see Mbappe become the world’s second-most-expensive player, after Neymar.

It remains unknown how Real intend to snatch the teenager with the Champions League finalists having also been linked with the likes of Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.

However, Real feel that Mbappe would better suit the needs of Zinedine Zidane and he would be a more suitable replacement for the struggling Karim Benzema.

The French striker is also viewed as a potential successor to the ageing Cristiano Ronaldo.
