Jorginho’s move to Manchester City appears to be drawing closer with his agent confirming that the Napoli are currently in negotiations with the Premier League champions

The two clubs were previously unable to agree on a deal for the 26-year-old with City’s offer of £44m being swiftly rejected by Napoli.

The Light Blues value Jorginho at £60m, which is something that City are reluctant to match and they were threatening to abandon their attempt at signing Jorginho in favour of pursuing moves for Jean Seri and Mateo Kovacic.

However, it appears that the transfer is still on and his agent, Joao Santos, provided an update to Radio Kiss Kiss.

“We’re waiting for news. The two clubs are talking. Jorginho is in Brazil and he’s waiting to find out what his future holds. We’ve got a verbal agreement with Manchester City, and we’re waiting for Napoli to agree with them,” said Santos, according to CalcioNapoli24.

“With a club like City, the names of those they’re interested in always leak, but if you can’t reach an agreement between clubs, there’s no point moving forward. Everything is in the hands of Aurelio de Laurentiis and Manchester City’s president. I can’t give you a date for when the talks will be complete. The only certainty is that Jorginho will play in a blue shirt next year.”
