Sealing a move to Juventus appears to have put Cristiano Ronaldo in a very generous mood with the star having reportedly left an unbelievable £17,850 tip at a restaurant in a luxury Greek resort
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was spending some at Greece for his summer vacation with his family following Portugal’s last-16 exit at the World Cup last month.
His time in Greece will be mostly remembered as the place where he sealed his move to Juventus with even the club chairman Andrea Agnelli having flown over from Italy to meet Ronaldo and seal the deal that saw him end his glorious nine-year spell at Real Madrid for a move to the Serie A champions.
But it turns out that there will be other things that the locals will remember Ronaldo for with the New Zealand Herald reporting that the new Juventus man was so impressed with the service that he received at the Costa Navarino resort in the Peloponnese region of Greece that he decided to leave them a massive cheque of £17,850 as a thank you gesture for everything they had done for him and his family.
The 33-year-old specifically asked the management at the hotel to split the cheque equally between all their employees.
While he gave away a lot of money there, Ronaldo should be able to quickly recuperate with his new lucrative contract at Juventus set to see him earn €30m a year.
