Tottenham Hotspur have rewarded Son Heung-min a new five-year contract following his breakthrough performances in recent seasons

Since arriving from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, Son has slowly grown to become a more important member of Mauricio Pochettino’s side and made 27 starts in his 37 appearances in last season’s Premier League campaign.

But Son has also done well in front of goal for Spurs and has scored 26 league goals in the last two seasons to help ease the burden that has been placed on main forward Harry Kane to continually deliver the goods for the overachieving side, who secured their another top-three finish in the league table last term.

And Son also became the top Asian goalscorer in Premier League history with his match-winner against Crystal Palace last November, which over him overtake his compatriot and former Manchester United man Park Ji-sung to set a new tally of 20 goals.

Now the 26-year-old has committed his future at Spurs with a contract that will last until the end of the 2022-23 season.

Kane and head coach Pochettino recently agreed on long-term deals themselves at Spurs.
