The restart has seen Arsenal register three wins on the trot after their back-to-back defeat at Manchester City and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Mikel Arteta was under pressure at the start of Project Restart but seems to have turned the tide. The focus of these wins has been Arsenal’s youth. Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah got them over the line against Southampton.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the architect in chief of their 4-0 victory over relegation threatened Norwich City. The Gabon international scored a brace and gave an assist in the impressive win.
Against fellow Europa League contenders, Saka opened the scoring while late in the game Alexandre Lacazette made it 2-0.
Mesut Ozil has been missing in these games, while Aubameyang has made his presence count. While everyone around him suffered indifferent form, the Arsenal captain has proven his mettle.
Both Ozil and Aubameyang are entering the final year of their contract, but it is the latter who the Gunners want to retain. With Saka penning an extension, it is hoped that the experienced striker will follow suit.
However, if he doesn’t, Arsenal need to be prepared. Here are three players who we believe can replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Arsenal.
