The English Premier League title is a foregone conclusion. Liverpool have it in the bag. With the way they Merseyside side giants are playing, only an unnatural catastrophe will hold off title celebrations at Anfield.

And as they continue their unbelievable run in English top flight competition, records are set to tumble in their wake. Liverpool have a date with destiny and nothing stands in their way.

With every passing day, the historians ready themselves to make alterations to the record books. Plenty can change and the Reds have it all in their grasp.

Five spectacular records that are set to be broken by the Anfield giants are listed here.

Most consecutive wins

Manchester City set the record for most consecutive wins under Pep Guardiola’s first title winning season. The Citizens went unbeaten from August to December 2017, recording 17 league wins. As is stands, the reds are not far from them.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have registered 11 successive victories and are en route to emulating City. They need to maintain their winning run until the end of February to overtake the Citizens record.

Most consecutive home wins

Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea set initial records for consecutive home wins. But the Blues saw their records taken by Roberto Mancini’s Manchester City in 2012.

At the Etihad, City went registered 20 consecutive victories from 2011 to 2012. As it stands, Liverpool have claimed 18 victories on the trot at Anfield.

They need to negotiate results against Manchester United and Southampton to equal City’s feats. Get better of West Ham United, and Liverpool make the record their won.

Fewest defeats in a league season

Liverpool are unbeaten this season. And the manner in which they are playing, and the way lady luck is smiling on them, they will emulate Arsenal’s Invincibles.

There is a long way to go before the end of the season. But hypothetically, if any team can match the Invincibles feats, its Klopp’s men this season.

Most wins in a Premier League season

In the last two seasons, Manchester City finished with Premier League record of 32 victories. Liverpool have 19 from 20 domestic fixtures.

With 18 matches to play for, the Reds can not only overtake the Citizens’ record but also make the record their own.

Longest unbeaten run in Premier League history

Liverpool last tasted defeat in English Premier League against Manchester City in the first week of 2019. But they are not close to claiming this record. They need to go unbeaten this season to overtake Arsenal’s record of 537 days without defeat.

The Invincibles went from May 2003 and Oct 2004 to make the record their. Liverpool will make that record theirs on 23 June 2020.

And if they manage to reach that milestone, their unbeaten run will be longer. The summer layoff will be included. And who knows when will Liverpool taste defeat the next season.
