Park Chu-Young

This one might be the biggest mystery of Wenger’s signings.
Upon learning that Arsenal were interested, Park literally walked out of a medical examination at Lille to pursue a move to north London.
It was a rash move for both club and player, which made little sense.
True, Park was a big hit in Ligue 1 having performed well for AS Monaco during a three-year spell.
But the Premier League is on a completely different level, which Park found out the hard way. So it came as no surprise that he only made a single league outing between 2011 and 2014.
The South Korean then spent a year with Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabab before he returned to his boyhood club FC Seoul in 2017.
Park Chu-young (12) was the only player to score 10+ league goals for Monaco in the 2010/11 Ligue 1 season.
