Let’s be honest, there is not a lot that has yet to be said about Cristiano Ronaldo. Many have argued that he is the greatest of all time and is better than Lionel Messi, whilst some have described the Portuguese superstar as a phenom.

Of course, there is a lot more to CR7 than what he has done on the football field, with a number of charitable and humanitarian efforts that he has been active with, showing that he is a genuinely likeable person and one that is rather humble.

There are many, though, who will continue to hope that he can make their soccer bet at Betway come in when they wager on Manchester United and him for his ability on the pitch, even if the Red Devils and Ronaldo have struggled this season.

Nonetheless, he has still been able to make a difference in a number of ways over his career, and this article will take a look at just five of those that he has made whilst on and off the pitch!

Ronaldo hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur – 12 March 2022

Let’s start with one of the most recent moments in his spectacular career where he has managed to make a difference.

As mentioned, some will have questioned whether the GOAT is still the same kind of player that he was or if time has caught up with him, however CR7 showed he could still be the difference needed when he netted an emphatic hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur on 12 March 2022, to record a 3-2 win in a game many thought the Red Devils simply were not very good in. Those who would have had a bet on the game with Betway may have been rather thankful to him if they had backed his team to win on this occasion.

Ronaldo helped Man Utd win the Premier League title in 2007/08

One such occasion was in the 2007/08 season when Ronaldo helped Manchester United win the Premier League title. He scored 14 goals in the last 11 games of the season, including 2 goals in the Champions League final against Chelsea which helped United seal a dramatic victory.

Ronaldo scored crucial goals for Real Madrid in multiple UCL campaigns

Ronaldo also scored crucial goals in Real Madrid’s successful Champions League campaigns in 2014 and 2016. His goals against Juventus and Atletico Madrid respectively helped Real Madrid become European champions for a record 10th time.

He was the difference for Juventus in winning Serie A in 2019/20

As we mentioned with his performances recently for Manchester United, Ronaldo has shown that he can still make a difference at the highest level. In the 2019/20 season, he was instrumental in Juventus’ Serie A title win, scoring 21 goals and providing 8 assists in 33 league appearances.

Ronaldo helped Portugal to win the 2016 Euro Championships

Finally, Ronaldo was also crucial in Portugal’s historic victory at Euro 2016. He scored 2 goals in the tournament, including the winning goal in the final against France. His leadership and passion for the game inspired his teammates and helped Portugal win their first-ever major trophy.

Final Thoughts

There is no doubt that Ronaldo is a truly special footballer who has the ability to change games and win trophies for his teams. His career is full of examples of him making the difference when it matters most.
