Spain smashed poor old Malta in the Euro 2020 qualifier 7-0, with all seven goals coming from a different scorer.

Roberto Moreno’s men went to town on footballing minnows Malta.

The 2008 and 2010 European Champions Spain whose place in Euro 2020 was already secured showed no mercy on the team at the bottom of Group F.

Atletico Madrid forward, Alvaro Morata made it 7 goals in 7 games for club and country in the 23rd minute.

That was followed by a goal from former Arsenal man Santi Cazorla. It was Cazorla’s first international goal in four years.

That gave La Furia Roja a comfortable 2-0 lead going into the break at half time.

The second half saw Malta hold out for 17 minutes before the flood gates opened and the Spaniards pile on the misery.

Two quick goals in the 62nd and 63rd minutes from Torres and Sarabia got the ball rolling again.

Another three-minute flurry in the 69th and 71st minutes with goals from the hot prospect, Dani Olmo and Moreno made it 6-0.

That was all before Jesus Navas finished the goal-fest off in the 85th minute to make it 7-0.

Roberto Moreno will be well pleased with his team’s performance,

Especially the likes of debutants Dani Olmo and Pau Torres who not only played well but even got on the score sheet.
