Harry Redknapp insists that despite his wife dreaming of living in Nigeria he won’t be taking the job as the county’s manager.
It has been suggested that Nigeria is considering a change of management for the Super Eagles national team, as Gernot Rohr’s contract is set to expire.
It now appears that this talk was all a big hoax.
Redknapp insisted it was his wife’s dream to move there.
Speaking to Talk Sport he said:
“Yeah, well I spoke to Sandra and she’s always wanted to live in Nigeria.”
“She said it’s amazing that this has come up now, because that was her dream.”
“So we’re looking to sell up, we’re putting the house on the market. We’re looking to get somewhere over there if possible.”
“I’m sure, she’d love it there. I’ve told her, she’d absolutely love it. I’m ready to go!”
Harry had us all going for a minute, then he subtly eased the truth into the conversation.
“I actually went there a few years ago with Portsmouth, we played Manchester United, but I don’t think I’ll really be going back.”
It will be interesting to see who is in charge of the Super Eagles for the next African Cup of Nations.
