Juventus fell to a three-one defeat at home to Roma as Maurizio Sarri rested his star forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

With a Champions League come back against Lyon to navigate Maurizio Sarri rested, Cristiano Ronaldo.

The former Chelsea boss was already without Paulo Dybala through injury and he announced earlier that Ronaldo would not feature.

It was a chance for the likes of Gonzalo Higuain to get a start and a full 90 minutes under his belt.

The Argentine marksman proved his manger right in the fifth minute when he fired the Bianconeri into the lead.

But the Old Lay’s joy was short-lived as they really had nothing else to cheer about all night. Kalinic equalized in the 23rd minute and Paulo Fonseca’s side never looked back from then on.

Before the half-time whistle, Perotti had given the visitors the lead. He converted from the penalty spot after Calafiori was tripped by Danilo in the box.

Then in the 52nd minute, Perotti got his brace and Roma’s third to secure the points.

Roma secured a rather meaningless but impressive win against the champions.

The result along with Inter Milan’s win against Atalanta means that Maurizio Sarri’s side wins Serie A in the end by just one point.
