Aaron Wan-Bissaka is the best tackler in the world when it comes to a one-on-one situation, according to Jamie Carragher.
Wan-Bissaka impressed as Manchester United edged out City in the Manchester derby with a fine individual performance of his own.
It’s a difficult task to beat City alone but the Red Devils did that in superb fashion by adding a clean sheet as well.
Wan-Bissaka was next to perfect in his defensive duties as he kept Raheem Sterling at bay all through the match.
The 22-year-old made sure Sterling was pretty quiet all through the game and was hailed a lot for his defensive showing on Sunday.
Jamie Carragher has also heaped praise on Wan-Bissaka, claiming he’s the best tackler in the world in a one-on-one situation.
Carragher said as quoted by The Mirror: “one-on-one he is the best defender in the world” after watching the 22-year-old contain Sterling.
“This was no ordinary contest, this has become personal. I’ve seen these two go at it before in a derby and it makes for great viewing. I have to say Wan-Bissaka came out on top on this occasion and I suspect Raheem Sterling won’t like it.”
“In the end Sterling went up front and Benjamin Mendy tried to use his pace and power to bully his way past the Manchester United right-back – but to no avail.”
“This lad is one of the best timers of a tackle I have seen in years.”
Wan-Bissaka has featured in 26 league games and 34 in all competitions as he continues to impress since joining the club in the summer.
