The Reds legend rates Sadio Mane as an ‘absolute superstar’ and thinks he’s been the Premier League champions’ best player.
Sadio Mane has become a prolific presence down the Liverpool flanks, providing the club an ample amount of goals and assists in the last two seasons.
The Senegalese star played a key part in helping Jurgen Klopp’s side win the Champions League last season, and again in ending their 30-year wait for league glory by winning the Premier League this term.
“He only had a week off in the summer after the Africa Cup of Nations, after he got to the final. He was on the bench against Norwich in the first game of the season.
“For me, I think he’s been Liverpool’s best player. In those early weeks, his goal against Southampton, the Super Cup and having no rest, it’s just phenomenal and he doesn’t stop.
“His pace, what he brings to the team and his all-round game – he’s an absolute superstar.”
