Krzysztof Piatek admitted he was not astonished by his own standards in his full Milan debut against Napoli claiming “I expected a night like this, but it’s just the start.”

The former Genoa striker capped his first start in the Rossoneri jersey with a brace in the opening 27 minutes of a 2-0 Coppa Italia quarter-final victory.

And he went on to promise the Rossoneri fans of more nights like this as he aims for a prolific career in Milan.

Gattuso admits Milan needs to do much more

According to the team's manager, the club was not playing its best in today's 1-1 draw in the Italian Lega Serie A.

“I expected a night like this. I said that I was ready and I got a brace, but this is just the start,” Piatek told Football Italia via Milan TV.

“Both goals were great, even if they were different. Before the game I spoke to Diego Laxalt and Fabio Borini, asking them to give me the ball high and long, because I prefer it that way.

“On the second goal, I had to take on Koulibaly, but it went well. I am already thinking about the next game with Roma and hope the rapport with my teammates is even stronger by then.

“I felt good tonight and it was marvellous playing at San Siro.”
