It is time to talk about the 20-year old talented full-back, Achraf Hakimi who currently plays on loan at Borussia Dortmund.
Achraf Hakimi is born on 4 November 1998 in Madrid. He joined Real Madrid’s youth academy in 2006 and played through various age categories for the club before making his first-team debut in October 2017.
The youngster is a versatile full-back who can play both left and right. He is good in defence, but with his excellent offensive skills Hakimi can also have a more attacking role and play as a winger.
Even though he was born and raised in Spain, the 20-year old represents Morocco at international level as both of his parents are of Moroccan descent.

He made his international debut in October 2016, while still playing for Real Madrid Castilla in the lower tiers of Spanish football.
Hakimi made 17 appearances for Los Blancos under Zinedine Zidane in the previous campaign. He scored two La Liga goals and won the UEFA Champions League, becoming the first Moroccan ever to win the competition.
In June last year, he was named in Morocco’s 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The full-back played all 270 minutes in the Mundial for the Atlas Lions, helping his team draw 2-2 against a strong Spain side in their final Group B encounter.
Hakimi’s role model is his Real Madrid team-mate, Dani Carvajal. He has a similar style of play with the Spaniard, as the 20-year old is attack-minded and blessed with an excellent dribbling ability and a blistering turn of pace.

They’ve even had a similar path in their career, both being Real Madrid academy graduates. Carvajal was also sent on loan in the Bundesliga, as he spent the 2012-13 season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen.
And that’s exactly what Achraf Hakimi had in mind when he joined Borussia Dortmund in a two-year loan deal eight months ago.
“I thought that it had helped Carvajal a lot that he came to play in Germany at such a young age. For me, he’s the best in his position, but Piszczek has been one of the best for years now, too. Hopefully, I can also learn from him.” – he said via the Bundesliga official website.
The Moroccan made his Bundesliga debut in September 2018, scoring a goal in the 7-0 victory over Nuremberg. He is a regular first-team player for the Balck and Yellows since then.

His best performance for Borussia Dortmund so far was against Madrid’s neighbours, Atletico. The full-back provided three assists, helping his team win the game 4-0 at the Signal Iduna Park.
Hakimi has already shown his natural talent on different levels for club and country. He has got everything a modern full-back needs, and we believe that there is a bright future in football ahead of him.
