Everton manager Marco Silva has challenged Ademola Lookman to stay and fight for his spot in the Everton team after he confirmed that the player in his plans.
Lookman now looks set to remain at Goodison Park, despite Silva initially hinting that the 20-year-old could switch to RB Leipzig in a loan move before Friday’s transfer deadline.
RB Leipzig are still interested in signing Lookman and have been linked with him throughout the summer.
The German Bundesliga club upped their offer for the player to £25m plus add-ons in a late move last week.
However, Everton want £28m for Lookman, who spent the second half of last season on loan with RB Leipzig.
“I don’t like to talk about every day him,” Silva told Sky Sports.
“I have already told you my thoughts about him and his skills as a player. Our decision is already made.
“Of course. He stays in our plans. He has to work to take his position in our squad.
“He is fit and training with the team tomorrow and this morning.”
