Liverpool keeper Adrian credits Atletico Madrid’s keeper Jan Oblak for the Champions League victory at Anfield.

Liverpool failed to successfully defend their Champions League title this season. They were eliminated from the competition by Atletico Madrid.

The Merseyside club threw everything they had their opponent. In the second game alone, they had almost 30 shots.

Adrian, who found himself once again filling the breach left by Alisson Becker takes nothing away from the Spanish side’s victory.

However, he insists that his opposite number was the man responsible for the win.

Speaking to DAZN, the Spaniard

“At home we had twenty-odd shots on goal, but we lose.”

“The man of the match was definitely Oblak.”

“In the end, Atletico played their game, they beat us in both games and they should have progressed because they deserved it.”

Oblak is without doubt one of the best keepers in the world. but would Liverpool have progressed if their number one Alisson Becker was in goal instead of Adrian?
