Adrien Rabiot’s mother has taken another swipe at Paris Saint-Germain by claiming that Nasser Al-Khelaifi is “poisoning” the squad.
These stunning accusations come in light of Rabiot’s continued expulsion from the PSG first-team. The rumoured Barcelona target has been sidelined since December after refusing to discuss a new contract.
Therefore, Rabiot will leave the Parc Des Princes in the summer once his existing deal has finally expired.
But the 24-year-old’s mother and agent, Veronique Rabiot, has been openly critical of the way PSG have dealt with her son. She even recently accused the French champions of treating him as a prisoner.
And now Veronique has slammed PSG president Al-Khelaifi for instilling “poison” into the team.
“The president [Al-Khelaifi] has made a completely unfair decision and everybody knows that,” she told Agence France Presse.
“By doing this, he has instilled a poison in his team, which has done its work over the past five months — Nasser has broken his own team up because he forgot about the human factor.
“When you make decisions in life, there are short, medium and long-term consequences. Failing to understand that when you are the president of a football club is to not know football, nor football players.
“Above all, it shows that you do not know men.”
Veronique added: “His team-mates know that Adrien is suffering, even if he says nothing — that suffering resonates.
“I am not saying that it is a conscious thing, I actually think that it is totally subconscious from the other players.
“However, there is a gangrene there. Nasser has taken away their serenity — you cannot ignore it when one of the best players in your team is abused in front of your eyes.”
Despite winning their sixth Ligue 1 title in seven seasons, PSG have suffered an unusually disappointing domestic campaign by their usual high standards.
After being knocked out of the Coupe de la Ligue quarter-finals in January, PSG lost the Coupe de France final to Rennes on penalties last weekend.
