Adrien Silva was sent on loan to AS Monaco by Leicester City in the second half of last season and the player is keen to make a return.
Back at Leicester for preseason training, Adrien Silva doesn’t know what the future holds for him. The Portugal international hasn’t had a great time at Leicester but a move to Monaco revitalized the midfielder.
And while speaking to France Football, Adrien Silva says that he has not been enjoying his time in England. Initially the player wanted to play for in the Premier League but now he wants to experience happiness which he did in France.
“It was an experience that I did not really like. So the club and I decided to look for a solution together. Already, it didn’t start well (Adrien Silva had to wait six months to make his Leicester debut because his transfer from Sporting was confirmed 14 seconds after the market closed). It was a difficult experience in terms of emotional stability.
I wanted to experience the Premier League, I had the opportunity to do that. I saw what I wanted to see, now my priority is to be happy and for that, I need to be on the field.”
Adrien Silva says that he was never able to adapt to English football or the culture.
“When you don’t play a lot, other factors don’t work out either. From a family point of view, it was hard to adapt, the lifestyle is completely different, especially for the kids. All that did not help me. In fact, I never managed to catch up with those six months without playing.”
And Adrien Silva says that he was happy at Monaco.
“It did me a lot of good. Just playing, you feel useful, happy and content. It was very important to find these feelings for my confidence. I adapted quickly and that experience was very positive. I’m still in contact with some people, including the coach of course because we have relationships that go beyond football.”
