Italian striker Giuseppe Rossi’s agent announced that they are in contact with Fiorentina and hope to seal a deal
The former Manchester United player is currently without a club after being released by Serie A side Genoa at the end of last season due to recurring knee problems.
After reportedly testing positive for dorzolamide, Rossi avoided a drugs ban and is now actively pursuing a new club.
And Fiorentina is his preferred destination.
“Rossi left his heart in Florence and would happily return,” agent Federico Pastorello told Rai Sport, via Football-Italia.
“We are in contact with the club. He still feels like a top level player and Fiorentina would be a dream for him, as he’d return to a city that always embraced him.
“Fiorentina knows we are more than open to the possibility, but clearly they will have to make their own evaluations.”
Rossi played for Fiorentina between 2013 to 2016, where he managed 19 goals and eight assists in 42 appearances.
