Marek Hamsik’s agent announced they are yet to begin talks with Napoli over a new contract
The Slovakian midfielder had been strongly linked with a €30m move to China in the summer transfer window.
However, new Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti convinced Hamsik to remain at the club.
But the Partenopei captain’s future at the Stadio San Paolo remains in doubt with Hamsik yet to confirm whether he will continue for next season.
“We haven’t talked about it,” said agent Martin Petras on a new contract, according to Football-Italia.
“On the other hand, Marek has a contract until 2020, with an option for another year. So it’s like it expires in 2021.
“I don’t know if they’ve added a salary cap in China, I’m not interested.”
Hamsik is yet to score in any of his 12 appearances for Napoli in the Serie A and Champions League.
“The reason Marek hasn’t scored yet is the change in his position on the pitch, he plays a lot deeper now,” said Petras.
Napoli will face Chievo Verona on Sunday in a Serie A match with kick-off to begin at 15:00 (CET).
