After yet another impressive display at Fulham for Manchester City, Sergio Aguero reached Thierry Henry’s goal-scoring record in all competitions.

It’s already been established that Sergio Aguero may be in the best moment of his career right now, the man just reached the same number of goals scored than Thierry Henry had during his Arsenal career after scoring City’s second goal against Fulham.

The French forward is considered by most publications and members of the media, as the best player in Premier League history and one of the most spectacular strikers that English football ever had.

During his career at Arsenal, Henry scored a total of 228 goals in 377 matches for the Gunners in all competitions.

This is by no means a record that breaks any other number in football history, but it is still good enough for Thierry Henry to stay at the top of Arsenal’s all-time top scorer’s table in the club’s history.

Sergio Aguero just reached the same number of goals, but the difference here is that he only needed 329 matches to reach this number than the French striker required.

It’s obvious that Aguero is Manchester City’s all-time top scorer as well, he is well on his way of shattering several records within the next couple of seasons if he maintains this same level of performance.

With his goal against Fulham, Sergio Aguero reached 162 Premier League goals and only sits one goal behind Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler.

It’s no secret that ‘Kun’ will surpass this number before the end of the season, he could even do it next week when Manchester City gets a visit from Cardiff City during the midweek Premier League fixtures.

By the time that Sergio Aguero surpasses Fowler, it will be clear that his next target will be the man whose record he reached today in all competitions.

You see, Thierry Henry scored a total of 175 Premier League goals during his career at Arsenal and he currently sits fifth in the all-time top-scorers’ table in the competition.

Sergio Aguero might not be able to reach Thierry Henry’s numbers by the time this season ends, but he may very well get there by next season.

The Argentine player has been constantly proving that he is one of the best players in Premier League history, but he might not be considered better than Thierry Henry by the time he retires from the English club.

These are two very different football players that reached a similar stage of their career at club level in regards to scoring goals, but Henry surpasses Sergio on the collective aspects with far more trophies.

If Sergio Aguero won’t be able to become more successful than Thierry Henry ever was, at least he can rest assured with the opportunity to surpass him in the all-time top scoring table of the Premier League.

We really don’t think that ‘Kun’ will be able to win as many trophies for Argentina as Henry did with France, but he is still fighting to win the Champions League and has already won more Premier League titles than the Frenchman.

Sergio Aguero does have the chance to surpass Henry at club level, all he needs is to win the Champions League with Manchester City and that will be more than enough.

The challenge for the title continues for Manchester City, as they get prepared to play the very last matches of the season and continue to keep a close race with Liverpool at the very top.

Sergio Aguero will be essential for the Citizens during this final stretch of the season in all competitions, Pep Guardiola’s side moves closer every day to that mythical quadruple that no other club in English football has ever achieved.

The gaffer knows how important ‘Kun’ will be for him this season, the striker is ready for the challenge.
