Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag has confirmed that Hakim Ziyech is on the verge of completing an agreement for a summer move to Chelsea.

Earlier today rumors starting doing the rounds that Chelsea was enquiring about Hakim Ziyech.

Those rumors of inquiry developed into a potential deal that meant the Moroccan international moved to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Now Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag has all but confirmed an official deal is in place.

In an interview with Fox Sports, the Dutchman admits he is not surprised at the deal. What does surprise him is how long he has been able to hold to the player.

Ten Hag acknowledges that this deal enables Ajax to retain the player until the end of the season. He considers this a huge benefit for the Dutch giants.

He said:

“Ziyech to Chelsea?”

“A transfer was coming, we expected it to happen.”

“I actually already expected this one or two years earlier.”

“Each time it was: ‘Wow, he stayed again’.”

“We are just happy that we will still have him until the end of the season.”
