David Alaba refuses to get distracted by talks of his future at Bayern Munich ahead of Champions League quarter-finals.
David Alaba has induced a state of disturbance in the Bayern Munich camp with showing an unwillingness to commit his future.
Alaba’s current contract expires the next year, and he is yet to sign a contract extension. And the media have been putting forward their own interpretations of Alaba’s unwillingness in opening contract talks, linking him with a move away.
“My focus is on the next few weeks and that’s why I don’t let anything else distract me,” he said, as beIN SPORTS reports.
Alaba then went on to talk about the task at hand. He knows facing Barcelona is not an easy task by any means but he wants his team approach the match with confidence and be ready to put on a good fight.
“I think it will be even more intense in the next few weeks and that’s why we want to prepare well in Portugal so that we’re ready,” the Austrian international added.
“The anticipation is huge, of course. Barcelona have a good team, we are aware of that, with very good, individual players.
“But we want to counter that and go to Portugal with confidence. We need each other, [we cannot] hide.”
