David Alaba feels Robert Lewandowski deserves the same recognition as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
After dismantling Tottenham earlier in the group stages, Bayern Munich once again put on a dominating display during their most recent trip to London in the Champions League.
Hansi Flick’s men ran riot in the second half as Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry helped them register a comprehensive 3-0 victory against Chelsea last night.
Lewandowski, who has been on a phenomenal run this season, also assisted both the strikes for Gnabry, taking his overall direct goal involvement tally to 44 in all competitions.
David Alaba was thrilled with the performance of his teammate. So much so that and insisted that Lewandowski should be bracketed alongside titans Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
“He is a world-class player and a world-class striker,” he said as per the Guardian.
“We all know that he can score goals and he showed today another side of himself by putting assists. We know he is very important to us and we are grateful to have him in our squad. He shows it every weekend, I guess. He’s one of the best, and maybe the best, striker in the world. He scores goals in almost every game.
“I think he deserves to be at the top and spoken about with those guys [Messi and Ronaldo].”
