Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has allowed Alexis Sanchez to return to Chile as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury
The former Arsenal star’s difficult year has come to an end due to a hamstring injury which is expected to keep him sidelined for the next six weeks.
Now the Independent reports that Sanchez arrived at Santiago on Tuesday in Chile, where he intends to recover from a mentally and physically draining year.
The report adds that Sanchez plans on spending some time working with some of the Chilean national team staff, which United have endorsed due to their good relationship with the country’s football federation.
Sanchez sustained his hamstring injury during a training session at the end of last month.
The 29-year-old forward has managed one goal and two assists in 12 appearances this season.
United will now be preparing to host Fulham on Saturday at Old Trafford, where they hope to end their four-game winless run in the Premier League.
