Alisson Becker believes Liverpool have the quality to win both the Premier League and the Champions League as the season gradually draws to a close.

The Merseysiders are only a point adrift leaders Manchester City with eight games left to contest for the title.

With the focus switching to the Champions League last-16 tie against Bayern, many pundits have suggested the Reds should drop their European ambitions and focus solely on the title chase.

And these comments have not gone down well in the Liverpool camp, with Klopp debunking those claims and Alisson the latest to echo his manager’s sentiment.

Speaking a press conference at the Allianz Arena ahead of tonight’s meeting, the Brazilian goalkeeper stated via LFC.TV, Liverpool are in both competitions to win

“It doesn’t change anything. We have our goals and we are fighting for them.

“Our goal is to win the league and everything we are playing in, [so] the Champions League as well. We are fighting in this period.

“This team is a great team. We are focused on this next game and it is a challenge for us.”

Maldini opens up on the emotional Istanbul loss

Paolo Maldini still can’t get over Milan's 2005 Champions League Final loss against Liverpool, a game he feels they dominated over 120 minutes but still...

Unlike Mo Salah who singled out the Premier League title, Alisson made it clear Klopp’s army are going for both trophies.

“No, we can’t choose what we go for. If we can choose, but we choose both! They are two big competitions.

“Of course, in the Premier League, it is a long time since Liverpool won it and they have never won the Premier League with this name, so we will fight for both.”

Liverpool can safely progress with a score draw or a win, But Bayern won’t make it easy playing in front of their home fans.
