Former England manager Sam Allardyce is backing Jack Grealish to succeed should the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid follow through their interest.

Jack Grealish has been sensational in his Premier League debut season. He was marked as one to watch after a great Championship campaign saw his Aston Villa promoted.

He has been strongly linked with a big-money move to Manchester United this summer.

However, there now appears to be competition for his signature, coming from some unlikely clubs. Namely Barcelona and Real Madrid.

However, Allardyce thinks that the links are well deserved, and if true a challenge he feels young Grealish is more than up to.

Speaking to Talk Sport, the former Bolton and Everton boss believes Grealish is demonstrating that the pinnace of football is where he belongs.

He said:

“Jack is the key element in everything Villa seems to do.”

“He’s scored more goals and got more assists this season, he’s looking like a real player.”

“He’s handled the Premier League like he should have always been there.”

“I think that’s going to create a massive interest across the European clubs.”

“The quality of play he shows on the ball, the calmness, the final pass and now the finish as well.”

“It wouldn’t be beyond clubs like Barcelona or Real Madrid to look at him.”
